Let me know if you liked or hated a movie I recommended. - .

Depending on the viewer, one will love or hate this movie. The first time I tried to watch it, I turned it off. It is corny and melodramatic but what the heck. Its quirky. I recommend it for the music, its flavor and its avoiding an easy feel good ending. Head and shoulders above the current batch of bland films. Jim Broadbent plays the owner of the Moulin Rouge.

Jim Broadbent stars as Gilbert in a wonderful musical film focusing on the last great hit of Gilbert and Sullivan: The Mikado. Its a wonderful trip to late-19th-century London to see the creative process. I loved the film and the soundtrack CD also.

Directed by Terry Gilliam. A black comedy. Had most vivid dream I ever had after seeing this film. Jim Broadbent plays as Dr. Jaffe.

a kid named Kevin joins a band of mischievous dwarves on a jaunt through various eras and epochs. Written by Monty Python's Michael Palin and Terry Gilliam. Great fun. Kids will enjoy it but like all Pythonish films, its for the adults. Great cameos by many well-known actors.

A new classic fairy tail. Jim Broadbent stars as the rich landowner. I agree with the Amazon review:
This gentle "true" fairy tale succeeds on nearly every level, becoming an intelligent handling of a tabloid story. In 1817 a young foreign drifter (Phoebe Cates, never better) sets a small portion of England buzzing that she is a royal princess from an uncharted land. This feels like a magical movie with slightly overcooked characters, such as Kevin Kline's Greek butler. The supporting cast is older than in most movies of this type--no cute actors, we have performers with chiseled features and gruff voices. Director Michael Austin's decision to approach this as a true story keeps things firmly grounded so the eccentrics are not overplayed. Beautifully filmed by the great Freddie Francis (Glory) and featuring a surprisingly rich cast (Stephen Rea, Wendy Hughes, Jim Broadbent, and John Lithgow), this is simply the best family movie since The Secret Garden. --Doug Thomas

The "Borrowers" are a family of tiny people who live in the walls and under the floorboards in the homes of "normal-sized" people; they live by "borrowing" the household items (string, food crumbs, buttons, etc.). When the aunt dies and her will is stolen by an unscrupulous lawyer (John Goodman), the Clock family faces eviction. A classic for kids. Jim Broadbent plays Pod Clock.

another great Renée Zellweger (Nurse Betty, Me, Myself and Irene) film. I need to start a tip on her films. Jim Broadbent plays as Bridget's dad.

another updated version. You need to be familiar with the original to really appreciate these updated versions. Jim Broadbent stars as Buckingham.

a gem. An IRA foot soldier Fergus (the incomparable Stephen Rea) kidnaps a British soldier (Forest Whitaker) and waits for the news that will determine whether he executes his victim or sets him free.

Jim Broadbent plays as Mother.

Finest Michael Caine performance in years.

Book was great. Like many adaptations, the film didn't live up to the same standard. Jim Broadbent plays as Dr. Lagermann.
