Movies NOT Recommended

Let me know if you liked or hated a movie I recommended. - .

French. Realistic. Realistic rape scence ( not that graphic ), realistically beat someone to death with. The artistic camera work pissed me off. The content turned me off. I understand anger at this level. I just did't enjoy watching it. I, like most viewers, could only watch a few minutes. Amazon has a buy link from Irreversible to . Only similarity I can see is that they are both in Spanish.

A Jackie Chan movie its NOT. I turned it off after 10 minutes. Stupid. Too Hong Kong 70s like.

Sister Mary Explains It All (2000)
Exceptional acting. Diane Keaton stars as Sister Mary Ignatius who is a legend, an institution, and for more than 20 years struck fear into the hearts of her elementary students. She has her own list of those she knows are going to hell. This is ShowTime's version of Christopher Durang's searing Obie award winning play. If you were brutalized by this type of stereotypic catholic nun instructor, you might get some kind of release from watching the tape but otherwise I can't recommend it. There are serious questions such as "Why do bad things happen to good people?" and "Why does evil exist?" This flick has no answers to these and similar questions brought out in the dialogue but does spit out a lot of deep seated anger. You can get it at Blockbuster. If you want to see narrow ugly religious bigotry up close and personal, Sister Mary Ignatius spews it out.

Shameful mixing of history. Movie has a scene where the British burn down a church with the villagers imprisoned inside. This actually happened. It occurred during World War II when a Nazi unit perpretated this atrosity in a French village. There were some ugly incidents in the Revolutionary War but mostly between colonists split between anti- and pro- British feelings.

Enjoyed the movie while watching it but I realized that I had suspended all traces of moral outrage to do so. I try to take such things as entertainment but this movie goes way over the line. Matthew Perry stars as a mild-mannered Montreal dentist, married to a French-Canadian shrew (Rosanna Arquette), whose new next-door neighbor (Bruce Willis) just happens to be a notorious mob hit man out on parole. The wife, catching the whiff of easy money and probably just hoping to put hubby in harm's way, orders her henpecked schnook to rat out the gunman to his former employers, who have many compelling reasons to want him dead.

A life has no value in this group.

Watched this with a friend. How can that much flesh be so boring? So stupid?

Trigger Happy (1996)
Richard Dreyfuss, Jeff Goldblum, Gregory Hines, Burt Reynolds, and lots of others. I stopped watching after the 5th or 6th senseless murder. Its supposed to be a black comedy. Its certainly ugly enough. I didn't see anything that could be considered as funny. Maybe I don't get that version of "comedy". Like "The Whole Nine Yards", you have to suspend your sense of outrage to watch it at all but unlike "The Whole Nine Yards", I didn't enjoy "Trigger Happy". Maybe there is a reason its not available on Amazon.
