What is FireWire? It is very like USB but with higher bandwidth. It is designed to support digital camcorders, digital cameras, digital VCRs and anything needing speeding transfer. FireWire supports up to 400 megabits per second. Real power. Unfortunately Windows 2000 does not completely support IEEE 1394. It only supports devices that are OHCI ( Open Host Controller Interface) compatible. If a FireWire device is not on the HCL list, don't buy because it won't play.
