Registry Tip #29: Change number of objects Active Directory will search

Hits: Failed to execute CGI : Win32 Error Code = 3

I have seen a fair number of questions concerning searches of Active Directory failing at 10,000 objects. This is the default number of objects AD will search. To change this limit, use the following Windows 2000 registry hack:

Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Key: Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Directory UI
Name: QueryLimit
Type: REG_DWORD
The defaut=10000.
