Windows NT Network Neighborhood initial screen displays computers in your domain or workgroup. You can double-click the Entire Network and browse through the available domains to get to the server to which you are wishing to connect. In my work environment, there are multiple resource domains. There are a handful of servers which I access relatively frequently. To speed up and simplify the browsing, I created shortcuts in the Network Neighborhood folder for these servers. To add a shortcut:
Double-click on Network Neighborhood to open the folder
Click Start, choose Find / Computer
Enter server name in the Computer Name dialog box name field
Click Find Now
Drag and drop the server found to the Network Neighborhood folder
Choose Create Shortcut Here when menu pops up
You will have a shortcut to the server/workstation. It is listed a head of computer list and it has the ugly name Shortcut to ... . Rename the shortcut to whatever you like.
Create a shortcut to each server you need to access resources on periodically.
