NT does not support Plug N Play out of the box. You can install ISA PnP support by right-clicking on \Drvlib\Pnpisa\X86\Pnpisa\Pnpisa.inf found on your NT installation CD. After reboot, your NT will support Plug N Play cards. PnP sound cards in particular are difficult to install without this support.
