Blinking objects can cause seizures. To adjust the blink rate:

Hive: HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Key: Control Panel\Desktop
Name: CursorBlinkRate
Type: REG_SZ
Value: 530 millisecs, default

Set to large value if you wish to stop the cursor from blinking.
